About Jeannie

Jeannie Bruenning

The youngest of three girls, I grew up as a Preacher’s Kid in a small town in Wisconsin.  Growing up in the church meant attending Sunday School every week. Each year the Sunday School curriculum began in at the beginning of Genesis with the story of creation and continued through the stories of the Old Testament as much as nine months of classes would allow.

The stories I learned as a child have stayed with me. As I’ve ages, those simple stories have become more and more real. I revisit them regularly and they never disappoint.

I have come to appreciate those years I spent in Sunday School and the lesson I learned. I have come to realize that there are a large number of adults who were not taught these great stories that I cherish. Sunday School Theology 101 begins with Genesis and the story of creation and continues through the Old Testament, focusing on the stories of the Bible heroes I have cherished for almost half a century.
